Rekha & Jaison: Married!

July 12, 2010

April 24, 2010

Ceremony: United Methodist Church
Reception: Hyatt Regency
Hair & Makeup: WowPretty
Videography: Metmedia Video
Floral Design: Asiel Design
Lighting & Draping: Enhanced Lighting
DJ: Spintronix

I just love Rekha & Jaison’s story.  Rekha lived in Canada … Jaison in the East Bay.  They met a couple of years ago while Rekha was visiting her sister, who also lives in Fremont. It was love at first sight, and they immediately started a long distance relationship.  Hundreds of phone calls, letters, and emails later …  they got engaged & started planning their wedding.  A week before their wedding Rekha’s visa was finally approved, and she was able to fly down for their engagement session & finish planning their wedding!  Despite doing everything from afar, they put together an amazing wedding!

Ceremony:  St. Mary’s Church, Los Gatos
Reception:  Decathlon Club
Floral Design: Exquisite Touches
Cake Artist: A Spoonful of Sugar
DJ: Sound in Motion

I feel so lucky to have kicked off the 2010 wedding season capturing a romantic wedding on the weekend of Valentine’s Day. Jennifer and Daniel celebrated their wedding with a very fun loving group of family and friends. The relationship that the couple has with the people in their lives helped make their nuptials truly special and unforgettable. I was also so happy to be able to catch up & reminisce with one of my couples, Brooke and Nick, whose wedding I photographed about a year and a half ago and also happen to be Daniel’s cousins. Such a small world!

Frederique + Jason: Married!

December 24, 2009

Ceremony & Reception: The Enchanted Forest

This blog post has been long overdue. It has taken me forever to narrow down what pictures to blog about from Frederique and Jason’s beyond amazing Halloween wedding. And because I simply cannot narrow things down any further, I’ve decided to do two posts!

Because Halloween is Jason & Frederique’s favorite holiday of the year, they designed and created a spectacular Halloween themed wedding… from the engagement photos, to the costumes, to the castle nestled in the hills of De Luz valley where the wedding was held.

Being at the castle reminded me of being on the haunted mansion ride at Disneyland. An animatronic zombie bride and groom greeted guests as they walked through the castle gates. The décor all around consisted of pumpkins, skeletons, spider webs, and spiders. Here’s a few of my favorite detail shots:

Rachel + Frank: married!

November 23, 2009

September 26, 2009

Ceremony & Reception: Freedom Hall & Gardens
Florist: Citti Florist
DJ: Elite Entertainment

Rachel & Frank are such a cute couple and a real joy to be around. Their engagement photo session had to be rescheduled on two occasions because of cold and rainy weather and when we finally shot, it was 105 degrees out! We should have known that it was a precursor for their wedding day which also hit record highs for temperature.

The photography was so fun and unique as Frank has a love and appreciation for the Japanese culture, which we were able to incorporate in the wedding photos. The groomsmen got ready at Yuki Sushi and we got some great pictures with them posing with large knifes . . . and on a softer note, they used personalized chopsticks for wedding favors.

The uniqueness of the theme and the crazy dancing at the reception made for a truly original and spectacular party.

Araceli + Jaime: married!

September 1, 2009

August 15 2009

Ceremony: St. Joseph’s Cathedral
Reception: Hotel Valencia
Flowers: Flowers by Yip
Cake: Jen’s Cakes
DJ: Verducci Entertainment

Araceli & Jaime wedding was pretty awesome.  They were married at the beautiful St. Joseph’s Cathedral, followed by a fabulous reception at Hotel Valencia.  Not only did they have Mariachi’s, but a killer salsa band AND a great DJ.  Between the mariachi’s, band, and DJ, the partying and dancing was non stop.  We didn’t want to leave the party – we were having so much fun!

And how romantic is this?  For their wedding present, their parents gave them a surprise honeymoon!   Their only hints were to pack their passports, and sunscreen.  How exciting is that?!?  They just got back, and Araceli tells me they were surprised with a trip to Greece.  I am sooo jealous!!
